JOB SHADOWING IN PERU – CHILD PROTECTION AND DEVELOPMENT

The Asociación de Comunicadores y Educadores Viator (ACEV), born in 1997, is a recognized community institution that contributes to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged young people, adolescents and children of Peru through education and vocational training. ACEV operates in Collique Area in Lima, in Yungay and Cutervo, seeking to promote quality and equitable education and prepare youth for life and employment.

Activities included:

- Field visits and volunteering at ACEV headquarter, the community child care center “Viatorcitos” and the school “Fe y Alegria” established in Collique Area in Lima.

- Field visits at the school “Fe y Alegria” in Cutervo and the community schools “San Viator” in Yungay and Caraz in the Andean Mountains, providing pre-primary, primary, secondary and alternative education.

- Workshops to develop community and rural development in cooperation with educators, community leaders, private and public actors in Yungay and Caraz.

The job shadowing was implemented in the frame of the Erasmus+ project "Child Protection and Development: Youth Work Experiences across the World", involving organizations and youth workers from Italy, Kenya, Peru, India, Greece and Spain.
